🤖 AI Coach 4 questions
How do I use the AI coach?
Open the Coach tab in the app. Type your question or request in the chat field — the coach works like a text conversation. You can ask it to build you a program, explain an exercise, adjust your current plan, troubleshoot a plateau, or answer any fitness question.

The coach has full context of your workout history, current program, and fitness profile, so you don't need to re-explain your situation on every message.
Does the AI coach remember previous conversations?
Within a single session the coach remembers everything you've discussed. When you start a new session (e.g. the next day), the conversation history resets — but the coach always has full access to your workout logs, current program, nutrition history, and fitness profile, so it can still give relevant, personalized advice without you having to re-explain your situation.
Is there a message limit?
Free trial users have a daily message quota. Subscribers get a significantly higher quota. If you reach your limit, the app will let you know and you can continue the following day or upgrade your plan.
Can the coach adjust my workout before I start it?
Yes. Once your workout is loaded, just tell the coach what you need before you start logging. It can:
  • Turn straight sets into a circuit — e.g., "Turn those first three exercises into a 4-round circuit."
  • Cut exercises to fit your time — e.g., "I only have 35 minutes — trim this down." The coach estimates the session length and removes lower-priority exercises to fit the budget.
  • Swap out movements for an injury — e.g., "I tweaked my shoulder — can you replace the overhead press and reduce shoulder load?" The coach identifies aggravating exercises and substitutes safer alternatives.
  • Add band mobility or warm-up work — e.g., "Add some band mobility for my shoulder before we start."
All changes apply to this session only — your saved template is never modified. If you want to start fresh, you can delete the session and re-create it from the original template.
🏗️ Exercise Library & Equipment 3 questions
Can I add my own exercise if I can't find it in the library?
Yes. When searching for an exercise inside a workout, template, or the Exercise Library screen, type the name and tap Create "[name]" if it doesn't appear in the results. Choose the equipment type (barbell, cable, band, etc.), add an optional description, and save.

The exercise is added instantly to your personal library — marked Mine — and is immediately available across all your workouts and templates. Personal exercises are private to your account by default. Our team periodically reviews user-submitted exercises and promotes quality entries to the global library so every FitMagic user can benefit.
Can I use my own video for an exercise?
Yes — you can swap in any YouTube or video URL for any exercise, and it will be used every time that exercise appears in your workouts.

From the Exercise Library: Go to Settings → Exercise Library, tap an exercise, and scroll to My Video Override. Tap Set my video, paste a URL, and save. The override applies instantly across all your templates.

During a workout: Tap the My URL button (pencil icon) in the exercise action row. The same sheet opens — paste your URL and save. You can also clear any override and go back to the platform default by tapping Reset to default.

The video resolution chain is: your personal override → your coach's recommended video (if you have a coach) → the template-specific video → the platform default → a YouTube search for the exercise name.
What is My Equipment and why should I update it?
My Equipment lets you tell FitMagic what machines and equipment brands you have access to — whether that's a fully stocked commercial gym, a home setup with bands and dumbbells, or something in between.

Keeping it up to date matters for two reasons:
  • Better AI recommendations: The coach uses your equipment profile when building programs, so it won't write a barbell-heavy plan if you only have cables and dumbbells.
  • Cleaner exercise search: Exercises tagged with your specific brands appear with an equipment badge, making it easier to find movements that match your exact setup.
To update, go to Settings → My Equipment and select the brands and equipment types available at your gym.
📋 Programs & Templates 4 questions
How do I build a workout program?
Two ways:
  • Ask the AI coach: Tap Coach, describe your goals and schedule, and ask it to "build me a program." It will generate a structured multi-day plan and save it directly to your Programs tab.
  • Manual builder (web): Visit fitmagic.app/builder, create a new program, add workout days, and fill in exercises with target reps, sets, and weights.
What's the difference between a program and a template?
A program is the top-level container — it has a name, goal, and a collection of workout days.

A template is one workout day inside that program (e.g., "Day 1 — Upper Body Push"). Templates define which exercises to do, in what order, with target reps, sets, and weights. When you log a session, you pick a template and record your actual performance against those targets.
How does the template builder work? What are sections, blocks, supersets, and circuits?
A template is built in layers. Here's how each piece fits together:
  • Sections — The top-level dividers of a workout. Every template has three: Warmup, Main Workout, and Finisher. Exercises and blocks live inside a section. You can add as many exercises as you like to each section, and you can move an exercise between sections using the Move button on its card.
  • Exercises (Straight sets) — The simplest type. Click + Exercise inside a section, pick from the library, then add sets. Each set row has a reps field and a weight field (or band color if it's a band exercise). This is the default for most movements.
  • Blocks — A block is a group of exercises done together, either as a Superset or a Circuit. Click + Block inside a section, choose the type, pick how many exercises and how many rounds, then name each exercise slot. Blocks are the right choice whenever you want multiple movements done back-to-back without a full rest between them.
  • Superset — Two or more exercises paired together. You do all the sets of Exercise A, then all the sets of Exercise B (no rest between them), then rest. Each exercise in the superset has its own set rows with reps and weight. Use supersets to pair opposing muscle groups (e.g. chest press + row) or to save time.
  • Circuit — A group of exercises done as rounds. You go through every exercise in the circuit once (that's one round), then repeat for the number of rounds you set. For example: 3 rounds of Squat → Lunge → Step-Up means you do all three exercises once, rest, then repeat twice more. Circuits are great for conditioning, functional training, or high-rep finishers.
Quick reference:
  • Straight set — one exercise, multiple sets in a row
  • Superset — two or more exercises paired, sets per exercise
  • Circuit — two or more exercises done as full rounds
The key difference between a superset and a circuit: in a superset each exercise tracks its own sets individually; in a circuit the round is the unit and all exercises share the same round count.
How do I share a program or template?
Open the program in the app, tap the share icon (or the three-dot menu), and select Share Program. You can share to:
  • Individual users — enter their email or username.
  • Your organization — if you're a coach, assign it to clients or the whole org. You must be an Admin of the organization to share at the org level.
You can only share programs you own.
🥗 Tracking Nutrition 4 questions
How do I log food and track my nutrition?
Open the Nutrition tab. You can log meals by searching the food database, scanning a barcode, taking a photo, or asking the AI coach. Every item you log adds to your daily totals for calories, protein, carbs, and fat. Your nutrition history is available to the coach so it can factor your eating into its recommendations.
How do I scan a nutrition label to log something?
In the Nutrition tab, tap Scan Label (the camera icon). Take a photo of the nutrition facts panel on the packaging — the AI will read the label and pre-fill the calories, protein, carbs, fat, and serving size for you. Review the values, adjust the serving size if needed, and tap Log to add it to your day.

If the label is blurry or the scan misses a value, you can edit any field before logging.
Can I ask the AI coach to look up nutrition information?
Yes. Just ask in the chat — for example: "How many calories are in a cup of cooked brown rice?" or "Log 2 scrambled eggs and a slice of whole wheat toast for breakfast." The coach can look up nutrition data, log items directly to your food diary, and answer questions about macros, meal timing, or calorie targets based on your goals.
Can I take a photo of my food and have the coach identify it?
Yes. In the AI coach chat, tap the camera icon, select a photo of your meal, and send it. The coach will identify what's in the picture, estimate the portion size, and give you a calorie and macro breakdown. If you don't type anything, it automatically asks "What is this food? Log it to my nutrition journal" — so just attaching the photo is enough to get a logged entry.

Photo-based estimates are approximate — they work best for whole foods and restaurant meals where there's no label to read. For packaged foods, the Scan Label feature in the Nutrition tab will give you more accurate numbers since it reads the actual nutrition facts panel.
🏋️ Tracking Workouts 5 questions
How do I track a workout from my program?
Go to the Home tab and tap Start Workout. Select the template you want to run (e.g., "Day 1 — Push"). The app walks you through each exercise set by set — log your actual reps, weight, and rest time as you go. When you finish, tap Complete Workout to save the session.
How do I start an empty workout — not from a program?
On the Home tab, tap Start Workout, then choose Empty Workout instead of a template. You can add any exercises from the library as you go. The session is logged the same way — sets, reps, weight — and saved to your history when you finish.
What is Quick Log and when should I use it?
Quick Log is a fast way to record a workout when you don't want to go exercise-by-exercise. On the Home tab, tap Quick Log in the quick actions row. Choose an activity type (e.g., Running, Cycling, Swimming), enter the duration, and optionally add an estimated calorie burn. Tap Save and the session is logged instantly.

Use Quick Log for cardio, walks, sports, or any activity where tracking individual sets and reps isn't the point. For strength training and structured program sessions, use Start Workout instead so you can log sets, reps, and weights against your program targets.
How do I watch a video for an exercise during my workout?
Each exercise in the workout logger has an action row beneath its name. Tap Video to open the exercise demonstration — it plays in YouTube or your device's browser.

The app picks the best available video in this order: your personal override → your coach's recommended video → the template video → the platform default → a YouTube search for the exercise name.

To set your own preferred video for an exercise, tap the My URL (pencil) button in the same action row, paste any YouTube or video link, and save. Your preference will be remembered and used every time that exercise comes up — even in future workouts.
Where do I see my past workouts?
Tap the History or Stats tab. Every completed session appears there with the date, duration, exercises, and the sets/reps/weights you logged. The AI coach also reads this history when giving advice.
🏢 Organizations & Coaches 3 questions
What is an organization?
An organization is a shared space for a coach and their clients (or a team). The coach creates the org, invites members, and can assign programs and templates to individuals or the whole group. Members log their workouts independently, and the coach can review their progress.
How do I set up an organization?
Go to Settings → Organizations and tap Create Organization. Give it a name, then invite members by email or share your invite link. Once members join, you can assign programs from your library and monitor their activity.
How do I add users to my organization?
As an org admin, open Settings → Organizations, select your org, and tap Invite Members. Enter their email address or share your unique invite link. They'll receive a prompt to join when they open the app.
🎁 Referral Program 2 questions
How does the referral program work?
Go to Settings → My Referrals to find your personal referral code. Share it with friends. When someone signs up using your code, both you and your friend receive a free period extension on your subscriptions.
How do I enter a referral code when signing up?
During the sign-up flow, you'll see an optional Referral Code field. Enter the code before completing registration. The free period is applied automatically — you'll see it reflected in Settings → Subscription.
💳 Account & Billing 6 questions
How do I subscribe to FitMagic?
Open the app. If you don't have an active subscription, you'll land on the Subscription screen automatically. Tap Subscribe — you'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page where you can pay by credit or debit card. After completing payment the browser closes and the app confirms your subscription.

$12.99 / month, cancel any time. If you signed up with a referral code, any free-trial days are applied automatically — no coupon needed at checkout.
What happens right after I complete checkout?
After checkout completes, Stripe sends a confirmation to FitMagic. The app polls for up to about 8 seconds and unlocks automatically once confirmed.

If confirmation takes a moment longer (rare, usually happens during high traffic), you'll see "Confirming your subscription — this may take a moment." with a Retry button. Tap Retry after a few seconds — you won't be charged twice.

If the app still shows the subscription screen after 30 seconds, force-close and reopen it. Your subscription will already be active in our system.
How do I update my payment method or view my billing history?
Go to Settings → Subscription in the app. If you subscribed via FitMagic.com (not Apple or Google), you'll see a Manage subscription button. Tap it to open the Stripe billing portal where you can:
  • Update your credit or debit card
  • Download invoices and receipts
  • Cancel your subscription
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing is managed by Apple or Google — use their respective subscription management pages instead.
How do I cancel my subscription?
  • iOS: iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → FitMagic → Cancel.
  • Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → FitMagic → Cancel.
  • Web: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription or Cancel Subscription inside the app.
Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete Account in the app, or visit our account deletion page. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data within 30 days. Cancel your subscription first so you aren't billed after deletion.
